Key Features Of All CELTA Courses


Every CELTA Program Includes The Following Features

  • Minimum of 100 hours of on-site instruction
  • Minimum of 6 hours of supervised practice teaching with classes of foreign students
  • Expert critiquing and discussion of all supervised practice lessons
  • 8 hours of observation of EFL classes given by experienced teachers
  • Maximum of 18 participants per course


Who Teaches CELTA Courses?

To be effective, TEFL trainers need to have a sound grasp of TEFL theory and to have extensive EFL teaching experience. Every CELTA trainer has:

  • an MA in TEFL/TESL (or a related field) or the RSA/Cambridge Diploma in TEFL;
  • at least 5 years of EFL/ESL classroom teaching experience;
  • completed an approved program of training as a TEFL/TESL trainer;
  • to obtain annual re-approval as a CELTA trainer from Cambridge.
